Symptom #1: Throbbing pain in the back of the mouth

You may notice pain radiating from the back of the mouth where your wisdom teeth and other molars are. As the condition develops, pain may spread to the rest of your mouth as those areas become effected.

Symptom #2: Swollen, tender and bleeding gums

Swollen, tender gums can always be a good reason to schedule a dental appointment. Impacted wisdom teeth can be one cause for bleeding, tender gums. Taken into account along with these other symptoms, it can be a useful clue.

Symptom #3: Swelling around the jaw

As this symptom worsens, it can become painful and even difficult to open your mouth.

The temporomandibular joint connects the jaw and skull. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause headaches radiating from this joint to areas of the head and face.
